If one is looking to read a book that is hard to put down then they should read "Fly Away Home" by Jennifer Weiner. With all the politicians splatter across the news at the moment the book looks at the downside of how politics can tear a family apart. The book follows two sisters and their mother in the aftermath of finding out that their father/husband was involved with an aide. Of course his being an important political figure means that his family finds out about the affair through the media. Each person reacts in a different way to the betrayal and must search for a way back to what they believe is the best answer to the turmoil that they experience. The back story between the sisters creates a look at how the lifestyle of their parents can effect coping. While the younger sister relied on drugs the older sister went in the opposite direction and played the role of the perfect daughter. It is interesting that the character with the most flaws is the one that comes off as the strongest character in the book.
